Yacht Club Resort

Captain's Grille-Breakfast

Captains Grill sign

The Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club has replaced the former Yacht Club Galley although you will see many resemblences with the food and set-up here. I dont' think any of the decor has changed at all, just the name. We've always enjoyed this restaurant even for lunch and dinner for a quiet escape for the chaos at the parks.

Breakfast is just as nice. Why? Because not only is there a full breakfast menu but also a nice buffet as well, without characters. The Captain's Grille offers are very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.

The buffet has a nice selection of wonderful breakfast items. It is set in it's own room so it's not right in the middle of the restaurant.

Buffet shot

There are hot items like your typical American fare of eggs, bacon, sausage and breakast potatoes. There is also a chef's frittata as well as the delicious eggs benedict.

Buffet 1

There are the typical fresh bakery items consisting of (but not limited to) muffins, danish, crossiants and quick breads.

buffet 2

The fruit buffet has a variety of melon, pineapple, strawberries, citrus items and yogurts. (sorry about the blurry photo)

buffet 3

And more hot foods like bread pudding, tomatoes covered with cheese, oatmeal and other breakfast goodies. There is also a regular cold cereal section.

buffet 4

These were some of the items I sampled below, all we delicious especially the eggs benedict. And I just love that chocolate crossiant, it's like a sinful dessert:-) Don't worry I already had 1 or 2 plates before this one LOL!! I like to pace myself and take tastes of everything rather than loading my plate in one trip.

If you're not into a buffet or just don't want to expose yourself to that much food LOL!! you can always order from their regular breakfast menu. There is a children's breakfast menu as well.

kids breakfast

Above is the kid's Breakfast Platter which consists of one egg cooked your way with breakfast potatoes and a choice of bacon or sausage. Looked more like an adult meal to me and there had to be more than 1 egg there! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this one.

blueberry pancakes

The blueberry pancakes from the regular menu offered 2 giant pancakes with fresh blueberries and bacon on the side. Definitely filling and delicious.

This restaurant is located off the Yacht Club lobby and can usually accomodate you without a reservation although you may have to wait a bit. It's never very full and has a very laid back atmosphere although if you think you'd like to try it prior to your trip it wouldn't hurt to make a reservation in case there's a convention at the Yacht Club/Beach Club resort as it could tend to get busy then.
